As a rule, low-denomination banknotes circulate in trade and service enterprises. This is understandable, since they are convenient, including in handling, and much lighter than coins. By the way, large retail chains have welcomed the return of paper 5 and 10 rubles.

of 2025 we plan to complete the phased modernization of banknotes of five more denominations — 5 thousand, 1 thousand, 500, 50 and 10 rubles. The issue of the updated ten-ruble note is scheduled for 2025. These plans remain. As we announced, it will be dedicated to the Siberian Federal District. Also in 2025, we plan to issue a new 50-ruble note, which is dedicated to the Northwestern Federal District and the city of St. Petersburg.
