How is this possible when public directories don’t publish cell numbers? In 2006 they did try to build directory listing wireless numbers, but many mobile companies backed down at the last minute. Why? because they realized they couldn’t protect their subscribers’ privacy once these numbers get published.

However, all mobile numbers are listed on secure databases. These databases are used for emergency reasons. As an example, if there is huge natural disaster about to happen, a text message is sent out to all the mobile numbers warning them (that’s the plan and let’s hope that’ll never happen). Some companies have been given legal access to these databases and these companies provide access to the details you need.

A couple of things to pay attention to

USA has over 250 million cellular phone subscribers. Choose a database including at least 200 Million numbers. It will give you a wider chance of locating the details you need
The Database has to be up-to-date and accurate. I have changed my number 2-3 times already. You might not be able to get the result you want if you end up with outdated details
Always remember to test the database with a known number before selecting a particular service. The best way is to enter your own mobile number and to see for yourself if the city, state and wireless carrier it predicts are accurate!
